Two Years Ago Today

January has been a quiet reset - a time of intentionally reshaping my environment, taking on more meaningful projects and diving into conversations with myself & others that challenge and expand me.

Last week, one of my best friend’s mother, now in her 70s, casually mentioned that she’s still learning something new every day.

It struck me deeply: growth actually doesn’t happen just because time passes. Another year around the sun doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve grown unless you proactively become aware of it and actively pursue it. So what does?

I think that growth means realizing that your way isn’t always the way.

It’s having the humility to question your deeply rooted beliefs, to accept that your perspective may be limited, and to embrace ideas and experiences that feel unfamiliar or even unsettling.

More often than not, real growth is born from the toughest moments.

It’s in those times you realize your parent’s advice proved to hold wisdom, your ex-partner’s feedback might carry truth, your boss's critique was somewhat accurate, or a friend’s bluntness about your past decision was actually brilliance.

Growth is messy, uncomfortable, and not always linear, but only when we choose it, we choose life in its fullest form.

P.S. Exactly 2 years ago today I shared my first post here. I’m thrilled to report that life does, in fact, get more magical - with a few inevitable growing pains along the way - and the growth? Absolutely astounding 😉
