It's not who you are that is holding you back, it's who you think you are/are not. And this affects your inner & outter world.
Superpower 03 - Expansive Mindset
An expansive mindset is what I consider as the third superpower and I practice it in every scenario throughout my day...
Firstly, an expansive mindset towards yourself means you are not afraid of setbacks, failures, rejections or things that just are not meant to be easy. You face challenges head on, you embrace uncertainty, you march on with courage, you shoot for the stars.
By focusing on the expansiveness of your experiences and capabilities, every moment in your life is a vehicle for your positive transformation. You are no longer being defined by your past, instead, you are defined by the vision of your desired outcome and your future.
Personally, I have never been afraid to try, to experiment, to explore or to fail. In fact, I rarely consider anything I have put my 100% effort in and did not end up working as a 'failure'.
Every single time when I thought I did not get the outcome I wanted, circumstances always turn out to be even more ideal than expected. It might not happen right away, but it always does eventually, without a fail.
Then, an expansive mindset towards the external world means you embrace the poeple around you with a mindset of abundance. You start your interactions assuming they have good intentions, that they are there to support you instead of tearing you down, they are there to celebrate your success instead of feeling envious, they are there to love you instead of breaking your heart.
I do realize that this is easier said than done because everyone goes through different life experiences, that people could have been wronged in unimaginable ways and the damage done is non-reversible. However, is allowing what bad has happened stripping away all the possibilities of goodness that could happen to your life going forward really something worths holding onto?
Two people having the same experience never actually experience the same. It's all in our head. And what we are consistently thinking turn into beliefs, and our beliefs always manifest into our reality.
By keeping an expansive mindset towards my external world, I am fascinated by everyone - what drives them, what shapes them, what they are going through and what they want to pursue. I also love love making meaningful introductions (hence, why I love my VC job!) because connecting the dots and mapping possible synergies come innately for me. Seeing other people succeed brings me joy!
I get asked how I am positive every day all.the.time (!). Honestly, this is it. I see myself as an ever-evolving being, so no 'failures' or rejections ever phase me. And I see the world as a loving and friendly place, so I embrace all experiences, and never lack the courage of going all in ;)
