Protect Your Wealth

With everything unstable and being contingent on the whole SVB situation and its ongoing ripple effect in the venture world, I find it rather amusing how the money could just be there one day, and poof... all gone the next, and back the day after (in theory)...

This made me reflect on two things - 1. The whole concept of self-fulfilling prophecy, how it manifests into real life and how humans consciously/unconsciously self sabotage (which I do want to get into at some point).

And 2. Are the zeros on our bank balance really equate us being rich? What truly defines wealth in this market where decades of QE at central banks finally collapsed, and nativism, protectionism, geopolitics tensions are all at their all-time high?

I am not enlightened enough yet that I can straight up say 'money can't buy happiness', because it certainly can when money is well spent. But, I am 100% certain that happiness can be obtained when our time is well spent.

And this is why as extroverted and social as I am, I've became increasingly selective in whom/what I spend my time on. These days, I spend most of my time on:

  • Quality sleep, 7 hours minimum and with no screen time at least 30 minutes prior or after

  • Workouts daily that target the body parts that I want to improve, and make me happy + yoga

  • Books that help me with my knowledge in my industry or compliment my mental & spiritual growth journey

  • Playing piano, at least 30 minutes daily (new recording coming up soon yay!)

  • Practicing bachata, at least 2 hours weekly. You can take the girl out of Spain but you can't take that fuego out of the girl. Also there's something special about trying to master a new skill as an adult, oh the challenge and satisfaction!

  • Journaling by writing down situations I hang up on and my thoughts around them (always brings me immense clarity so I do not get stuck)

  • Humans who add value to my life by inspiring me with the way they live their lives/the works they put out there/the activities we do together that excite me/the wisdoms they share that make me reflect on my own life

  • Random kind acts to random strangers (the surprised smiles on their faces always make my heart sing!)

Trust me when I say this.. when you become the true owner of your days and how you allocate your precious time (which, if it's not obvious by now, imho way more valuable than money), and only spend it on what makes you love yourself, life and the world more, you then are left with no time for unworthy things, thoughts or people💓🕊️
